Being independent allows Mal and the team at Iron Plan Solutions to provide financial advice that is unbiased. Unlike captive agents or big-name brokers, IPS has access to hundreds of solutions from dozens of financial institutions. They answer to clients only, and they take their fiduciary duty very seriously.

As Mal puts it, “We are an education-based advisory group; our goal is to educate people about their finances and provide custom solutions that meet client needs. Assisting people and watching them achieve their financial goals and dreams is what I most enjoy about our work here.” The firm was recently featured in VIP Pensacola magazine.

Prior to founding Iron Plan Solutions, Mal was Regional Vice President for ING Financial Services from 2001-2006. He majored in economics and finance, obtaining his degree from the University of West Florida’s School of Business. He continues to specialize in advanced markets strategies for both businesses and individuals, and recently co-authored the book, “Illustrating and Selling Index Universal Life.”

Born and raised in Pensacola, Mal is happily married and he and his wife, Candy Mason, have a grown daughter named Alex. In his free time, Mal enjoys spending time with his family and friends outdoors and on the beach, and he enjoys golfing, boating and traveling. He is an active Shriner and loves raising money to help children and veterans. He also serves as Chair of Donor Coordinations for the University of West Florida’s School Of Business.
